Even though the 2020 election is over, we have to start thinking about how to raise money to keep our team employed, start planning for the 2022 Gubernatorial Election, and deepen our relationships with underrepresented communities in an off year.
Honoring Black History Month: Words that Inspire Series

The Harris County Democratic Party honors Black History Month with Words that Inspire Series. The first series features County Attorney Christian Menefee, the youngest and first African-American elected Harris County Attorney. The 32-year-old litigator brings to his new role energy and determination to address issues important to our community.
“I ran for this office because I saw that it has a real opportunity to impact life for everyday people,” Menefee told the Houston Chronicle.
Meet Rolando "RJ" Coronado, HCDP Data and Training Director!

RJ first stepped into the HCDP office a few days before the 2018 Midterm Election to join a phone bank.
Having the opportunity to help voters make a plan to vote encouraged him to join the HCDP Leadership Academy the following year in 2019. During his time in the 10-week program he acquired hand-ons experience with voter registration at various community events and helped identify voter's policy issues of concern by phone banking and canvassing.
Wanting to help the people around him and ensure more voices were heard, he coordinated and supported voter registration efforts in Harris County as a Battleground Texas Organizer.
Since joining HCDP again he's helped organize and train teams in Northwest Harris County leading up to the 2020 election. Adapting to the COVID-19 pandemic, he led texting efforts using Outvote and co-led virtual phone banks on Zoom up until Election Day.
When he isn't learning new organizing tools or having a one-on-one meeting with volunteers -- he's either reading a book, fishing on a nice day, or spending time (safely) with friends and family.
You can reach RJ at RJ@harrisdemocrats.com.

ROADWomen, H-BAD & HCDP Invite You to We Run the World Fundraiser

Join ROADWomen, H-BAD, and HCDP as we celebrate International Women's Month - Virtually! We'll be highlighting the true diversity of Harris County's artists, elected officials, and grassroots activists.
Your support will help us catapult our strategy of registering women voters and first-time voters, help keep our progressive candidates in office and help new candidates flip the seats we need to Turn Texas Blue.
Let's celebrate women and show that We Run The World!
New Study Shows Harris County Loves Democrats!

In a just-released Policy & Politics study from the University of Houston Hobby School of Public Affairs, Democratic politicians received higher favorable ratings from Harris County voters than Republicans.
Democratic Elected Officials County Judge Lina Hidalgo, Chief of Police Art Acevedo, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and Sheriff Ed Gonzalez had the highest proportion of favorable ratings!
Republicans Ted Cruz, Greg Abbott, Dan Patrick & Dan Crenshaw received more unfavorable.
