HCDP Celebrates Black History Month

Black history is American history, & in Harris County, we are making history every day. In our latest celebrations, we recognized the work of Chris Hollins. As County Clerk, he pushed to create greater voter access in Harris County during the 2020 election cycle — with record-breaking results! We also honored the work of Monica Roberts, who started the groundbreaking blog TransGriot to tell the stories of the Black trans community. Born in Houston, Roberts was a warrior for equality who spoke truth to power. She died too young — at age 59 in 2020.
