HCDP Celebrates a Successful JRR Fundraiser, Thanks Amazing Sponsors & Guests

We are so happy to have hosted our first-ever-virtual Johnson, Rayburn, Richards (JRR) Event, Our Time is Now! If you missed the program, you can watch the recording here.
We had over 600 guests attend this event and raised over $174,000 to support our efforts in replacing the current Texas Republican Leadership in 2022! Speaker Nancy Pelosi mentioned the importance of turning Texas blue. She knows that Harris County is the key to delivering the biggest battleground state. But the effort to win statewide doesn’t start next year. It has to start NOW.

Review of Federal Efforts to Ensure Fair Voting
We advance democracy when voting rights are expanded. Yet, the GOP continues its fierce attacks on voting access.
There are several efforts to combat these attempts to disenfranchise voters, and we've gathered our HCDP legal experts to explain the federal plans to help ensure equal voting rights for all.
Images from Houston's "Stop Asian Hate Vigil & Rally"

Team HCDP joined the “Stop Asian Hate Vigil & Rally" at Discovery Green on Saturday evening.
We remain committed to advancing antiracism and working to address racial inequities.
We urge you to speak out against hate. Loudly. Repeatedly.

OP-ED: The Real Framing of the Atlanta Massacre: Hate Crime, Evangelical Terrorism & Femicide

Says HCDP Elections Administrator, Palwasha Sharwani, in the Texas Signal, “Hate crimes against AAPI communities are up 150 percent since Trump squarely and repeatedly blamed China for creating this pandemic, and Asian women are twice as likely to be victimized. Join us in standing against these racist attacks, discrimination and hatred."
