Recap of 'Post TDP Convention: What's next?
Everyone had a fantastic time last night at 'Post-TDP Convention: What's Next?' with HCDP Chair and TDP Treasurer, Odus Evbagharu and DNC member Andre Treiber!
The two opened up the discussion by introducing themselves and explaining the importance of the convention. Andre Treiber talked a little bit about Party structure and how the convention is planned and Chair Evbagharu reminded us of the importance of using your vote and getting involved as an activist. They discussed the Party platform, then took questions from attendees about all things TDP.

The 2022 Johnson Rayburn Richards (JRR) dinner is the largest Democratic fundraiser in Texas, and we want to invite you to join us at the Marriott Marquis in Downtown Houston on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022!

Election Day is getting closer every day and Harris County Democrats need to be ready. Candidates, precinct chairs, and Democratic clubs or organizations are encouraged to save the above graphic and share it everywhere!
Knowledge is power and the best way to fight Republican disinformation is by keeping our community informed.
So, remember:
Oct 11: Last day to register to vote
Oct. 24-Nov 4: Early Vote
Oct 28: Last day to apply for a ballot by mail
Nov. 8: ELECTION DAY!!!
Mark these dates down in your calendar and make a plan to get to the polls. Together, we will make November 8 a big day for the Blue Wave!

With less than 90 days left until Election Day, we ALL need to get involved!
August 20 from 10am-12pm
Join us for a canvass in State House District 133! We will be talking to voters and confirming their support for Democrats UP and DOWN the ballot in November!
HCDP Priority Precinct Canvass in Baytown!
August 21 from 3-5pm
HCDP is going to be walking in over 100 precincts in Harris County this cycle! These areas have the most Democratic voters BUT the lowest election turnout. We NEED to talk to these voters and motivate them to show up at the polls this November! We will be identifying Democratic supporters & reminding them to vote.

Every Tuesday from 6-8pm
November is our chance to solidify Democratic control of the Harris County Commissioner's Court- but we need to get Lesley Briones elected to do so! Join friends of the Harris County Democratic Party for a weekly in-person phone bank to help get Lesley elected for Pct. 4!

Precinct Chair Corner
New Precinct Chairs
If you haven’t signed up already, look for the "HCDP Precinct Chair Group" on Facebook. This private group enables you to learn about important dates and events, as well as highlight issues for and ask questions of our Precinct Chair community.
VAN Sign-on
Don't forget to check the little box on the sign-on page and put a check in the box to bypass the two-factor process for 30 days from the same computer. This step will save you some time.
Find My Precinct
Should a voter need to know their precinct and district assignments, they can use the Find My Precinct utility. From www.HarrisDemocrats.com, under the Elections tab, you will find the utility. Any registered voter can use this utility. Should you need to receive that voter information, substitute your email for the voters and the information will be emailed to you. Give it a try!
Narrow Your Results in a VAN List
Some of you have access to a number of precincts when running a van list but only wish to see the data of one precinct.
This is easy to do. (1) Load your list (2) Edit Search (3) Narrow People (4) Chose the precinct you wish to report on and then run your list.
Get Ready for Knock Knock in a Box
Our Precinct Chair Support Committee is working on a solution for you to work your precinct from early September through Election Day!
“Knock Knock in a Box” will contain union printed cards to leave with voters and a simplified VAN list targeting likely Democratic voters who usually vote only in presidential years. We may even include a vote tripling post/reminder to vote card the chair would collect and then mail back to the voter right before early voting. The “Box” will also include a Democratic slate door hanger that you’ll use for a second pass during early voting.
Look for a rollout announcement in the next few weeks!

The 2022 HCDP Leadership academy is halfway through, and we are so proud of all 16 academy members!
The Leadership Academy is an 8-week series aimed at training Democratic organizers. Participants learn about fieldwork, political communications, fundraising and so much more while making connections in the political space.
