The Polls are Open: Early Voting Has Begun for Nov. 2 Election
Early voting for the Nov. 2 election has begun and runs through Oct. 29. Check harrisvotes.com to find the polling location closest to you!
The election includes voting for members of our school boards. It also includes proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution. We've outlined the eight propositions and how our Harris County Democratic State Delegation voted on them.

Harris County has new voting machines this election! With the new machines, voters get a paper copy of their ballot, to verify selections before submitting them into a secure ballot box onsite.

In the News: Commissioners Court Approves the CROWN Act
Thank you to Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis, who sponsored the CROWN Act in Harris County. It was adopted by the Commissioners Court, making Harris County the first county in Texas to approve a CROWN Act resolution to ban discrimination based on natural hair or hairstyles in the workplace.

Are you a Harris County Democrat looking to help the Party?!
HCDP needs front office volunteers! One four-hour shift a week, answering phones and assisting callers. Remote training for anyone interested. Work currently offsite, but in-office at a later date.
HCDP Team Spotlight: Ashton Bokros & Karem Maldonado
Join HCDP to welcome two new members to our team.
Ashton Bokros is our operations director. He joins HCDP from the Dallas area, where he attended the University of North Texas. Ashton studied political science and history, and has worked in field organizing, multimedia reporting and business development.
Karem Maldanado is our deputy elections director. She is from the Houston area where she attended University of Houston-Downtown, studying philosophy. Karem has a background working for nonprofits, such as Mi Familia Vota and Workers Defense Project.
Both Ashton and Karem are passionate organizers who have hit the ground running to help HCDP elect Democrats up and down the ballot! We are excited to have them on board!

Bayou Blue- Fall Precinct Canvass
Weekly canvass in our Precincts to educate voters & boost turnout for candidates & issues important to us! Our primary focus will be supporting our HISD candidate Anne Sung in a tough re-election race against a conservative & well-funded opponent. While we will distribute literature & turfs on Saturday mornings, feel free to complete your turf anytime that weekend.

The Precinct Chair Portal has a directory of all the Harris County Precinct Chairs and their contact information. You can also use the directory to see information about all the other precincts that surround yours and learn the names of those precinct chairs. Need the minutes of the last CEC? It’s on the portal!
If you don’t know your UserID, just click on “Forgot UserID or Password If a voter does not know their SD, PC or Precinct and you don’t have time to look it up in VAN, just send them to www.Harrisdemocrats.com. Under “Take Action,” the “Find My Precinct” link has a request form. Results will be emailed to them.
