Run-Off Elections Underway Now for Harris County
School boards impact our communities from quality of life to what the future of education looks like. The runoff elections include some important school board elections in Harris County.
Join us to get out the vote for Sue Dimenn Deigaard - HISD Trustee District V, Holly Flynn Vilaseca - HISD Trustee District VI, Elizabeth Santos - HISD Trustee District 1, and Anne Sung, HISD Trustee District VII.
Head to the polls! Early voting has begun and runs through Dec. 7, with Election Day on Dec. 11.

Infrastructure Plan Set to Benefit Texas in A Big Way
President Biden signed legislation in mid-November called the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
The Infrastructure Plan will create jobs and boost our economy. It will help millions of Texans by unlocking much-needed funds for transportation, broadband and utilities.

For Our Precinct Chairs
Precinct Chair Filing Period: The Texas Secretary of State has announced the filing period for precinct chairs will open on Saturday, January 15, 2022, and will end at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022. The election for the office of precinct chair will occur on May 24, 2022, and there will be no runoff election for this office. Texas SB 13 provides that precinct chairs will be elected by plurality vote in 2022. This means that the candidate who receives the most votes will be elected to the office of precinct chair, and there will be no runoff election for this office.
Proposed Precinct Maps: The Harris County Attorney has released its proposed Precinct Maps. It appears that Precincts are being adjusted if they are smaller than 100 voters or larger than 5,000 voters. The proposed changes to Harris County election precinct boundaries are reflected in the mapping documents below.

The Harris County Commissioners Court meeting to consider and adopt proposed changes to the county election precinct boundaries will be held on Tuesday, December 14, at 10:00 a.m. at 1001 Preston Street, Suite 934, Houston, TX 77002.

HCDP played host to representatives from Democratic Clubs and Organizations, as well as Senate District Chairs, from across the county last week at headquarters. The groups gathered to share best practices and map out increased coordination plans prior to the March 2022 Primary Election.
