This Pride Month we celebrate and reflect on the impact the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community and their allies have had on local and national history. We believe Pride is a celebration of love for people of every gender, orientation, and identity. The Harris County Democratic Party is holding a yard sign competition AND joining The Pride Run!

We want to showcase your inspiring artwork honoring Pride and the amazing pioneers who have made it possible to celebrate today.

Step 1: Submit your art!

Art submissions are now closed.

Step 2: Choose the winning yard sign

We asked you to submit a design that encompasses the inclusion and empowerment of communities to express themselves for who they are.

The public poll is now closed. We had over 200 votes and 🎉 are excited to announce the design with the most votes is "Welcome Home" by Scot Krahling!

Welcome Home

Step 3: Contribute and receive a FREE yard sign

You can make a $20.22 contribution to support the Harris County Democratic Party's voter engagement efforts and receive a yard sign with the winning design! All funds raised will support HCDP’s voter registration program, underwrite our Leadership Academy, and help launch our voter engagement efforts for the 2022 midterm elections to elect Democrats up and down the ballot.

I want a yard sign!

Beginning Tuesday, June 15, 2021, yard signs can be picked up at our headquarters located at 4619 Lyons Ave, Houston TX. 77020 Monday - Thursday from 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM

UPDATED 6/3/2021

We have been notified that the Pride Run has been postponed until Fall 2021. More from The Pride Run:

"We have been hoping to finally come together, but we have been notified, that as of writing, the city will not grant us permission to produce the event due to still-implemented Covid-19 restrictions. The Mayor's Office of Special Events has told us that our event is still affected by the current mandate, and we do not have a guarantee as to when this will end, although we hope it will be soon.

It's unfortunate, but these restrictions have also created scheduling issues for other Pride month activities as you will notice. But we do understand the emphasis on public safety, and when we are given the green light we will notify you immediately, and please know that we are eager to be together again in a safe way.

We anticipate the new date to be in September or October and we will notify you as soon as confirmed.

So what does this mean?
- If you received this email you are currently registered.
- Your registration to the Pride Run will be moved to the new date once confirmed by the City.
- Your registration will automatically be transferred to the new date.
- Existing participants don’t need to do anything at this time.
- You will see the dates across the event pages and website change to a temporary date in September."
